Night and Day

Night and day follows the lives, the highs and lows of six people living with life threatening illness and their carers as they face a life in front of death. The Film is being premiered in Birmingham as part of the Rosetta live festival and campaign ‘Let’s talk about Living’ We hope this campaign changes the way people think about living with dying and acknowledges the heroism at the heart of each individuals struggle with illness.” Lucinda Jarrett, Director Rosetta Life.

There is an urgent need for a true and unsentimental picture of the lives of those living with life threatening illnesses that challenges stigmas and attitudes. The film Night and Day, which will premiere at the Electric Cinema on 29th June, interweaves the stories of eight people in the Birmingham area who are living with life-threatening illness at home. It explores how serious illness affects relationships, from what it means when your spouse becomes your carer to the impact of dying upon the children. Above all, Night and Day offers a voice to those whom illness and society has silenced and shows how a terminal diagnosis need not be a death sentence, but a warning that from now on life has to be lived differently. From the reassurance of the home visit on a sunny day to the sometimes terrifying and lonely small hours of the night, from physical pain and family tensions to love, humour, and acceptance, Night and Day is a roller-coaster ride through living with dying that brings the lives, experiences and opinions of the life-threatened into the public arena.
